Fox Hunting:  Cruel sport, or way of life?

Fox hunting is one of the most controversial issues of recent years.  What are the arguments for and against fox hunting?

For your project you will need to look at the point of view of two organisations that have very different view points:

 

  • Against fox hunting:  Campaign Against Hunting (CAH)

  • For Fox Hunting:  Country Community

    Alliance (CAA)

 


PLEASE NOTE:  These charities are not real ones, though many charities, like The League Against Cruel Sports and the Countryside Alliance, exist to do similar work. The CA and CAH have been invented for this project. Any similarity to real organisations, past or present, is purely coincidental.


Brief information about the Country Community Alliance:

 

The Country Community Alliance's purpose is to:


  • Preserve the way of life of the countryside
  • Preserve countryside communities
  • Work in partnership with farmers
  • Develop the countryside for the benefit of everyone
  • Allow traditional country sports such as hunting, shooting and fishing.


Brief information about the Campaign Against Hunting

The Campaign Against Hunting’s purpose is to:

  • Ban all blood sports including fox hunting, hare coursing and badger baiting.
  • Promote the conservation of wildlife habitats
  • Ensure that the fox hunting ban is enforced
  • Ban game shooting
  • Ban angling
