MUSIC DATABASE

Create a database to store information about tracks that can be played during the High School Disco Competition. This will be used to create personalised play lists.

The data you need has been provided in this text file. You can find out what the data items are by looking at this list. For example, the first one is the track ID.

TASK 1 Build a suitable database structure to store the data. Each field must have a suitable name, data type, format and length. You must validate the field that contain codes.

TASK 2  Ask a test partner to check that your database structure is correct.

TASK 3 Import the data set. If records are rejected, check that your validation rules work as intended and keep a note of any rejected items for your trial eportfolio.

TASK 4  Create a data entry form so that new records can be added. It must be user-friendly to help prevent the entry of invalid data.

TASK 5 Test your form by adding at least two new records to the database. These could be new releases or favourite tracks that are missing. You may have time to improve the quality of your form.
